15 Songs in 20 Days

I am looking forward to an upcoming show at Old Dog Tavern, which I get to share with the glorious Megan Dooley. It’s a two-hour, headlining slot for me and the first show requiring I play for more than an hour. This means I seriously need to beef up my song arsenal. I was going to get around to expanding my repertoire at some point, and I suppose there is nothing better to motivate me than the thought of not being able to deliver. Gasp! The show is on June 14th, which means I have 20 days and my plan is to learn 15 songs. These 15 songs may consist of some originals, but for the most part will be cover songs. Anyone who knows me knows I am a perfectionist, so when I learn a song, I learn it very well and try to make it as unique as possible. It’s going to be a long 20 days!

So far on the list:
Leave the Pieces by The Wreckers
Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen
Weight of Lies by The Avett Brothers
Mean Love by Carrie McFerrin (a new song! still in the works)
Alive or Dead by Carrie McFerrin (another new song! still in the works)
